Finite Element Analysis

In a finite element analysis, the real structure is represented by a finite number of interconnected elements. The behaviour of the finite elements under an applied load represents the overall behaviour of the real structure. Such an analysis might range from a simple comparison of possible design solutions using basic models to optimisation and checking of a 'virtual part' using either beams and plates or a CAD generated 3D solid model.

The ideal time to carry out a finite element analysis is during the initial design phase, giving you essential data before investing in materials, tooling, production or even building a prototype. A finite element analysis will save you money and time and help you to understand what is going on with your design.
